Medical Equipment Lending
We accept gently used medical equipment, like wheelchairs and walkers and lend it out to those in need.
Call Reassurance Service
Live alone? When you sign-up for this convenient service, you call our reception desk each morning to check-in with us. If we haven't heard from you by 10am, we'll call you. If we can't get you on the phone, we call the emergency contact you provide and ask them to check on you.
Caregiver Resource Center
We have an extensive lending library of books, videos and pamphlets in the lobby of our Community Services department that is available at no charge for family caregivers! Materials can be checked-out during normal business hours - Monday through Friday from 8:00am to Noon, 1pm to 5pm. Come and browse - you're sure to find something helpful!
Handy Helper
The Dietert Center’s Handyman Service is aimed at assisting seniors with small household projects that they can no longer do. We can change light bulbs, fix doors, windows, dripping faucets, clean ceiling fans, and rearrange furniture. If you need something fixed, don’t hesitate to call Paula Harley, Dietert’s Community Services Coordinator, at 830-792-4044 to request a handyman.
We are also always looking for handyman volunteers – both men and women. If you are interested, contact Nick. This is an on-call assignment, as needs arise. Since handyman volunteers will be helping in seniors’ homes, they will be required to pass a criminal background check. Paula can also be reached by E-mail at [email protected]
